Mid-Century Outline Pattern Design

This "Mid-Century" pattern design was completed in 2020 as a student project while I attended the Make it in Design Summer School. 

For this design, the assignment was to create a sculptural, geometric pattern with curved forms and shapes to provide the simplicity of a mid-century style design.

For this project, I painted various shapes and colors onto watercolor paper. Then I scanned the watercolor shapes in at a high-resolution and brought them into Adobe Photoshop. After turning them into transparent clip art shape forms, I arranged them together to make the floral pieces for the final pattern design.

This design was featured on the Make it in Design blog as a top pick from Porter & Brawn.
